Magnetic resonance
During the last few years the number of magnetic resonance tomographs installed over the world increased significantly. There are more then 40 such devices present in Poland. Magnetic resonance tomography becomes more and more popular technique offering tools for imaging of internal human organs. Magnetic resonance scanners provide visualisation of soft tissues with very high accuracy, compared to the other diagnostic tools, such as computer tomography. The other advantage of MR tomography is non invasive patient examination.
Untill now, specialised clinicians analysed MR images based on their experience, knowledge and subjective opinion. Development of quantitative analysis methods of such images will provide more reliable and repeatable diagnosis results.
